|The disequilibrium of Internet empowerment on family farm Entrepreneurship: beneficial to the weak or to the strong?

However, under the dual effects of the "digital divide" and the "inclusiveness" of the Internet, the disequilibrium of Internet Empowerment on Farmer Entrepreneurship will be strengthened or weakened deserves in-depth discussion. This empirical study based on a sample of 753 family farms in Sichuan Province shows that Internet empowerment can significantly improve the quality of family farm entrepreneurship by improving information access, promoting virtual social networking, and providing a trading platform. However, there is an disequilibrium in this empowerment. Age, educational background, non agricultural work experience, the number of civil servants in family members, and distance from urban areas are important factors that contribute to the gap in Internet application. The results of the regulatory effect test based on social and geographical attributes indicate that the “more beneficial to the weak” and “more beneficial to the strong” effects coexist in the Internet Empowerment in Family Farm Entrepreneurship. Specifically, the impact of the Internet Empowerment on entrepreneurship effect in resource utilization is greater for family farmers who are close to urban areas and have higher levels of social capital relationships; For family farmers with low resource endowments, the impact of the Internet Empowerment on entrepreneurship effect in opportunity exploration is greater. Therefore, the hedging effects of the "digital divide" and the "inclusiveness" of the Internet coexist.
